About Shannon
I've long believed in doing what truly makes your heart happy and starting The Bloom Lab is what finally did that for me. I'm a lover of flowers and nature, gaining a lot of my inspiration from the colors, patterns and textures we see everyday.
My interest in floral design began my freshmen year of college while attending Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. As a Horticulture student I had the opportunity to study many fields in the agriculture industry but found my true passion while studying floral design. After graduating college I worked at the International Floral Trade Center in Carlsbad, CA where I gained knowledge of wholesale cut flower production and performed freelance work for several designers throughout Southern, CA. In 2012 I relocated to Sacramento and continued working freelance for floral and event companies until 2016 when The Bloom Lab was born.

Personal Details
I was born and raised a Farmer’s daughter and die-hard San Francisco Giants fan in the small town of Exeter, CA, where I grew up riding horses and raising sheep with the local 4-H club. After graduating high school I moved to San Luis Obispo, CA where I attended Cal Poly, majoring in Environmental Horticulture with a concentration in Plant Protection and Floral Design.
I met my husband Dustin by virtue of a SF Giants hat my sophomore year of college, leaving me indebted to the Giants organization for, basically, ever. Dustin and I married in July 2013 after a perfect Maui proposal where he asked me to join his team, jersey included! We have one fur baby, Marley, and in January of 2019 we welcomed our beautiful little girl Zoey Rose. When we’re not busy working, chasing Zoey around or working on home projects (Lucky me, Dustin is super handy!) we enjoy hiking, biking and lazy weekends in Tahoe.
